Jason stepped up to take on one of the toughest jobs in the nation when he was appointed the police chief in Ferguson, MO. The Ferguson community had been ravaged by civil unrest in the aftermath of the police shooting of 18 year old Michael Brown Jr. Working under the microscope of the Department of Justice and a Federal Monitor, Jason led his team to new heights with innovative organization reforms and creative community outreach efforts. Jason’s leadership was put to the test when he was faced with another round of rioting and civil unrest in Ferguson in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis.
