Jason P. Armstrong is a retired police chief and nationally recognized leader with over two decades of experience driving organizational transformation in high-stakes environments. Known for his award-winning approach to leadership and community engagement, Jason has built a career helping organizations address their most pressing challenges: breaking down silos, strengthening trust, aligning culture with strategy, and preparing leaders to deliver measurable results.
He gained national recognition when appointed Police Chief in Ferguson, Missouri, five years after the police killing of Michael Brown Jr., where he led reform efforts to repair community trust in one of the most scrutinized cities in America. His contributions earned him induction into the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame, and his active reform work continues today in Louisville and Chicago. As a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner (EQ-i 2.0 + EQ 360) and Certified Insight Coach Practitioner, Jason brings both the science and the lived experience of leadership to every engagement. An active member of several professional organizations, Chief Armstrong is affiliated with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, The International Association of Chiefs of Police, and Fight Crime: Invest in Kids. He also served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police, Special Olympics North Carolina, the Executive Board for the North Carolina Police Executives Association, UNC-Chapel Hill's Criminal Justice Innovation Lab's Advisory Board and the North Carolina League of Municipalities' Police Chief Advisory Board.
